Our Mission
At Sighthound Gear we use the finest materials
available. All stress points are double stitched both in collars, leads, and blankets. All
collars, unless specified otherwise, are padded for the comfort and safety of your
sighthound. All collar hardware is welded or one piece for strength and durability and
comes in nickel or brass tone plating. Fun and artistry go into the selection of our
trims, webbing, and padding. Custom orders are our business.
About Us 
SighthoundGear was started in 2003 by Deborah Butler
to finance her and her Borzoi’s dog events habits. Deborah lived in Central
California and noticed in her travels to performance events that there was a lack of
vendors at these events, but a clientele present. She decided to embrace this opportunity
to fill a need and to express her artistic talents in a useful fashion. She had also
experienced the challenge in purchasing quality made Sighthound products and decided that
hers would be not only attractive, but strong and durable. Her line of products was met
with great enthusiasm and she has answered to the request of her customers with this
Website. In 2004 Deborah met Della Sehm, a fellow coursing enthusiast. Della
has become an important component of Sighthound Gear.
In 2006 Deborah and her family moved to Gowrie, IA.
Della is still in California and continues to sell Sighthound Gear's wonderful
products at events in California and Arizona. Deborah is handling website orders
from Iowa and is selling her gear at events in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri,
Kansas, Illinois, South Dakota, and Wisconsin soon.
